Drooping upper eyelids often can make an energetic person appear continually tired. Within the passage of time, the eyelid skin stretches, fat bulges, and muscle weaken regardless of the condition of the rest of our bodies. Eyelid surgery can be performed to correct these conditions. It is a simple procedure that takes one hour under local anesthesia whereby incisions are made to remove excess skin and fat. Pain is minimal and recovery time is approximately one week. The results of eyelid surgery can be permanent and last more than ten years. In addition to above incisional eyelid surgery, Dr. Ho performs non-incisional blepharoplasty. Two or more permanent stitches are buried underneath the upper eyelids to create a fold. This is ideal for patients, especially Asians, who do not have the eyelid folds. There is no downtime from this procedure and is virtually painless.
